Story Information
In a small town in India, eight-year-old Ishaan is a curious and imaginative child who finds no interest in the lessons taught at school. He struggles with dyslexia, and his parents send him to a strict boarding school. There, he meets an art teacher, Nikumbh, who recognizes his talent and helps him rediscover his confidence.

A curious and energetic nine-year-old boy, Ishaan.
Ishaan’s father, Nandkishore Awasthi, constantly scolds him for his poor academic performance.
Ishaan: “The letters are dancing!”
– He struggles with reading and often gets punished.
Despite his resistance, Ishaan is sent to a boarding school, leading to deep loneliness and depression.
“I never told Dad. I was so, so scared. But I didn’t show it. But my heart sank. You know it all, don’t you, Mom? You know, right? My mom… I never said how much I fear the dark. I never said how much I love you. But you know, don’t you, Mom? Or… don’t you?”
Nikumbh, the art teacher, brings joy and creativity into the classroom.
Ishaan, overwhelmed by being away from his family, remains withdrawn and unresponsive.
Nikumbh’s Realization
